Biden to restart Trump ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy ‘as promptly as possible’


The Biden administration is planning to promptly reinstate the Trump-era “Stay in Mexico” policy that requires asylum seekers on the U.S. southern border to wait in Mexico till their instances are heard.

“As we’ve got beforehand acknowledged, we’re required by courtroom order to reimplement MPP,” a DHS spokesperson stated in a press release to Fox Information, referring to Migrant Safety Protocols.

“In compliance with the courtroom order, we’re working to reimplement MPP as promptly as doable. We can not achieve this till we’ve got the unbiased settlement from the federal government of Mexico to settle for these we search to enroll in MPP.
