Carlos Tevez takes first manager’s job and hires his three brothers to form Rosario Central coaching staff

arlos Tevez has made his first move into management by taking charge of Argentine side Rosario Central.

The club have picked up only four points in the opening four games of their Primera Division campaign and have turned to the former West Ham and Manchester United striker to turn their fortunes around.

On Tuesday, 38-year-old Tevez was confirmed as Rosario’s new manager on a 12-month contract.

Joining him in the dugout will be Carlos Retegui, former Argentina hockey player turned coach who had been working in the Buenos Aires local government’s sports ministry.

Retegui’s appointment helped through Tevez’s arrival as the former player does not hold the required coaching badges to take the job alone.

Also forming part of the backroom staff will be his three brothers; Diego, Miguel and Ariel Tevez.

Rosario Central vice-president Ricardo Carloni said of the deal: “When I met him, I saw that he has the flame of a winner. We talked about the club’s projects and he seemed very good to us.”
