Crews stop spread of fire in Granite Hills at about five acres

EAST COUNTY —

Hearth erupted within the hills south of Interstate 8 close to El Cajon Friday afternoon, and crews stopped the unfold, an official mentioned.

The hearth was first reported round midday on the finish of Lotus Lane, off La Cresta Street, within the Granite Hills neighborhood, Cal Hearth Capt. Neil Czapinski mentioned.

The hearth reached about 5 acres. Firefighters stopped it from rising, he mentioned.

Czapinski mentioned no accidents have been reported.

Crews are anticipated to stay on the website to douse scorching spots.
