Kering Eyewear has acquired the Danish eyewear brand Lindberg. The French luxury giant’s eyewear division and the Lindberg family have signed a contract for Kering eyewear to purchase a 100% stake in a Danish luxury producer. The acquisition requires the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities and is expected to close in late 2021.
Lindberg was founded in Denmark in 1969 by Poul-Jørn Lindberg as an optician and became a multinational corporation thanks to Poul-Jørn’s son Henrik. Currently, we have more than 750 employees in more than 100 countries. Lindberg is renowned for its titanium frame with sophisticated design and innovative technology. Its hypoallergenic screwless model can be customized by combining a wide range of colors and materials such as titanium, acetate, wood and precious metals, and Lindberg has won over 106 prestigious design awards.

The acquisition is a further step in the expansion of Kering eyewear, which will become one of the leading players in the eyewear sector in just a few years and generate approximately € 600 million in wholesale revenue in 2019. The Kering Eyewear portfolio includes 15 brands. Gucci, Cartier, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Chloe, Alexander McQueen, Mont Blanc, Brioni, Dunhill, Boucheron, Pomellato, Alaia, McQ And Puma.
