Richland Public health Commissioner Sarah Humphrey resigns

Richland Public health introduced Friday that Sarah Humphrey has resigned from her place as health commissioner “to pursue other opportunities.”

The board of health accepted her resignation on Wednesday and appointed medical director Dr. Daniel Burwell to function interim health commissioner. Burwell can also be the Richland County coroner.

The board of health’s personnel committee will start to seek for a successor within the weeks to return.

In keeping with Richland Public health‘s web site, Humphrey was named health commissioner on Jan. 9, 2020, a few months earlier than the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previous to coming right here, Humphrey had served as commissioner of the Ashland County health Division since 2016. Whereas health commissioner, Humphrey facilitated the collaboration of Ashland Metropolis Council and the Ashland County Normal health District to cut back prices and companies redundancy to create one health division in Ashland.
