September wholesale inflation slows but in double-digits for 6th straight month

Wholesale inflation in September eased to 10.66% from 11.39% within the earlier month however remained in double digits for the sixth month in a row, knowledge launched on Thursday confirmed.

Meals inflation contracted 4.69% in September in contrast with a 1.29% fall a month in the past, whereas that of manufactured merchandise rose to 11.41% from 11.39% in August.

Inflation in potato was -48.95%, onion was -1.91% and fruit was -1.27%. Amongst manufactured gadgets, costs of primary metals (26.71%), textiles (16.81%) rose.

Gasoline and energy costs rose 24.81% on-year as towards 26.09% in August.

Knowledge launched on Tuesday that confirmed India’s retail inflation eased to a five-month low of 4.35% in September.
