Sherri Shepherd, 56, reveals she got a breast reduction over summer

Sherri Shepherd was on cloud nine on Monday when she revealed she had undergone a breast reduction two months earlier.

The 56-year-old actress announced on her daytime talk show Sherri that she had the surgery on July 13, and not only did she love the new look, but it also helped relieve the pain she had been suffering from her breasts.

She brought her show back for the second season premiere amid the ongoing writers and actors strikes.

Although some fans have criticized her for not staying off the air in solidarity, she is under a different contract than the one that covers notable actors, and her show has never employed writers.

“I get so many comments about my body and a lot of you kept saying, ‘Sherri, you’re too top heavy.’ And I would get comments like, “If only you would get a boob job, everything would be in balance.” So guess what? I got my boobs done!’ Sherri screamed during her show as she showed off her new figure.

What a difference! Sherri Shepherd, 56, revealed on Monday on Sherri that she had a breast reduction surgery on July 13. She showed off her new, smaller bust and talked about how much better she felt now that the weight was literally off her shoulders (seen Monday on the left and in February on the right)

She looked glamorous in a bright pink dress that highlighted her cleavage.

Sherri also gave her fans a glimpse of her before and after by posting photos of her pre-breast reduction on the video screen behind her.

‘I had a breast reduction in the summer and season 2, everything is getting bigger except these breasts! Just to be clear, I didn’t get this boob job because of all the comments. “I got the breast augmentation because I just wanted to see what it felt like to sleep on my stomach,” she joked.

However, she clearly loved her new look.

“I’m so glad I did it,” she said, before noting that she was previously a 42DD cup.

She also added that it was a “bittersweet” feeling because she had appreciated the former size of her breasts and their appearance, but they were starting to affect her life.

“I thought I was carrying the weight of the world, but in reality it was the weight of my breasts,” she added with a laugh. ‘All jokes aside, they were so heavy that I slumped over the whole time. It started to get really painful, my back was really sore.”

She added that she felt “better,” and made it clear that she was glad she waited until this moment in her life where it felt necessary.

“God gave them to me, they have served me well, but as I get older I can sit up straight. “I feel lighter,” she said.

Sherri compared her weight loss to her weight loss in recent years, when she managed to lose about 40 pounds, although she regained some of the weight at the height of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Elsewhere on the show, Sherri tried to clear up confusion among fans who were worried she was crossing a picket line to bring back her talk show.

Although the 30 Rock actress is a member of SAG-AFTRA, which is currently attacking major studios and streamers as it fights for better pay, bigger residuals and guarantees that actors won’t be replaced by AI, her daytime talk show is governed by a different contract.

She’s also not covered by the WGA strike because her show never had writers.

“This summer, you all may have seen your favorite actors and Hollywood stars on the picket lines during the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes,” she began.

“There has been so much confusion about who can work and who can’t work… The Sherri Show is not a WGA show and we’ve never had WGA writers on staff, so when we go back to work we won’t cross the picket line ‘, she says. continued.

Her return was recently embroiled in the drama surrounding Drew Barrymore and Bill Maher’s decisions to bring back their talk shows without writers.

The move drew a huge amount of criticism, not just from members of the writers’ guild, but also from fans on social media.

Barrymore took the brunt of the criticism, which wasn’t helped by a somber video she posted in which she tried to explain her decision to bring the show back rather than wait out the strike.

It was shortly removed after a backlash, and she subsequently announced that plans to return had been put on hold until after the strike was resolved.

Bill Maher also announced that he was hesitant to bring back HBO’s Real Time shortly afterward, claiming that his change of heart was due to reports that the WGA and the AMPTP, which represent the studios, were returning to the negotiating table.

However, Sherri made it clear that she supports both the writers and actors strikes when she posted videos to Instagram earlier this month showing herself on the picket line with SAG-AFTRA members.

“Actors and writers are now fighting a corporate regime that literally wants us to be replaced by AI. They refuse to negotiate in good faith and want to see us broken and denied fair wages for our hard work. This is not acceptable. And this is what my fellow WGA colleagues and actors are fighting for,” she wrote.
