U.S. stocks opened with sharp gains Tuesday, as investors returned from a three-day weekend honoring the Juneteenth holiday and after the S&P 500 had its worst week since March 2020. The Dow Jones Industrial Average
was up around 1.5%, while the S&P 500
was trading 1.6% higher and the Nasdaq Composite
was rising 1.7%, according to FactSet data, at last check. On Tuesday morning investors will see fresh economic data on existing home sales in May, amid concern that the odds of a recession are rising in the U.S.
